Tarns & Lakes

Tarn Bagging or Coopering (after Heaton Coopers - The Tarns of Lakeland) is another list ticking pastime of collecting mountain tarns. I'm not entirely sure what the rules are; whether you have to swim, paddle or skim stones to classify one as bagged. Another comprehensive list of tarns can be found in John & Anne Nuttal's, two volume books 'The Tarns of Lakeland' sadly out of print, however an online list by the same authors can be found here : Tarn List
