In 1935 Percy Donald published a list of hills in the Scottish Lowlands over 2000ft. His original list involved a complicated formula for determining separate hills & tops. Alan Dawson simplyfied the original Donald list classifying a hill as one that had a drop of at least 30m, creating The New Donalds.
